Here is the summary:
In the shadows of Metropolis, a secret antiquities auction brings two predators together: Lex Luthor, the young billionaire with ambition sharp enough to cut steel, and Methos, a so-called academic hiding five thousand years of survival behind a glass of whiskey and a crooked smile.
When mercenaries turn the auction into a battleground, they are forced into an uneasy alliance—Lex with his wealth and restless hunger for danger, Methos with his cunning and endless cynicism. Between break-ins, betrayals, and too many nights in dingy motels, they clash in words as sharp as blades, each exposing the cracks in the other’s armor.
Lex calls Methos a coward hiding behind centuries; Methos calls Lex a child destroying everything he touches out of fear of being powerless. But in their anger they discover recognition—and attraction. What begins as survival turns into something far more dangerous: choice.
Because even a wolf and a serpent, circling warily in the dark, may find themselves entwined.
